Psychology Internship Admissions

In order to be considered for admission to the Psychology Internship program beginning July of each year, applicants must submit a completed application via the APPIC Online Application Portal no later than November 1 of previous year.

Admissions Process

In mid-November each year, applicants are notified by email whether or not they are invited for an interview. Approximately 70 applicants for the 2021-2022 training year will be invited to participate in one of three virtual interview days to be held in January 2021.  Please note, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in-person visits to campus will not be permitted.  Each applicant will participate in at least two individual interviews with faculty members, receive an overview of the program and will have the opportunity for interaction with current interns and supervisors in a virtual format.

If invited for an interview, applicants will be asked to provide a photo or for permission to take a screenshot of them on the virtual interview day to help faculty accurately recall each applicant. The photos, in no way, are used for decision-making or evaluation purposes.

The program adheres to all APPIC Policies throughout the application and selection process. Applicants may elect to apply to more than one track but must indicate in a cover letter which track(s) they would like to pursue.

House Staff Appointment

Interns admitted to the program are appointed to the House Staff of IU School of Medicine for 12 calendar months beginning July 1 and ending June 30.
