The Impact of Giving to IU School of Medicine

Indiana University School of Medicine is committed to preparing healers and transforming health. Doing so depends on the generous support of donors.

Though IU School of Medicine is a public medical school, the state of Indiana funds only about 10 percent of operating costs. Philanthropic gifts are vital for the school to train expert physicians and accelerate research that improves care for cancer, dementia, diabetes and other devastating diseases.

Donor-Focused Giving

The choice about how to direct a gift to IU School of Medicine is entirely up to each donor. A donation may fund a scholarship for a worthy medical student or support research related to a disease that has been personally impactful.
